This Forum is the third event organized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) on this topic. The purpose of the Forum is to exchange experience and create conditions for strengthening the role of private business in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals through the application of a new PPP generation - the so-called People-First PPPs.
In the framework of this activity UNECE is working on improvement of approaches to initiating and implementing PPP projects, and also forms the Compendium of the best 500 PPP projects in the world that can be attributed to People-First PPPs. Over the last year, 60 projects from all over the world were selected to this list (published on the UNECE website), 15 of them were presented at Geneva.
These 15 projects include the project "Implementation of the system for fixation of violations in the field of road safety in the automatic mode in the city of Kyiv" developed by the Academy of PPP and submitted to the KCSA on the initiative of a private partner - LLC Safe Roads of Ukraine.
On May 8, this project was presented at the Forum in Geneva by Mykola Povoroznyk, the First Deputy Head of Kyiv City State Administration, and Irina Zapatrina, the Chairman of the Board of the Center.

The Manual reviews business opportunities in achieving Sustainable Development Goals, assessed its potential in this area, considered the advantages for business from active participation in this process. It is also presented forms and mechanisms of business participation in achieving Sustainable Development Goals, analyzed how to apply the best world practices in this sphere in Ukraine. It is evaluated the role of public authorities in this process, provided recommendations for the development of partnerships between business and government in achieving national SDG indicators for Ukraine.
The publication was prepared under the support of the German Government's Green Economy Program implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program in Ukraine (UNDP) in the framework of the UNDP / GIZ Project "Support to the Implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals in Ukraine".

This event has gathered city mayors and representatives of local authorities from Ukrainian, Polish and Norwegian cities, experts from organizations working in the field of energy efficiency, representatives of central authorities.
The goal of the event was to present the results of the project "Polish-Norwegian Aid for Energy Efficiency Improvement in Ukraine", discus the State Energy Efficiency Policy, present the best practices in improving energy efficiency in the municipal economy.
The Chairman of the Board of the Center Irina Zapatrina has made a presentation "Legal regulation of energy efficiency projects implementation on the conditions of public-private partnership".

The event was attended by the representatives of more than 200 countries of the world, international organizations, non-governmental organizations, private sector and scientific institutions.
On the first day of the session, dedicated to the issues of mobilising the PPP units of the countries behind the UN SDGs Mikhail Titarchuk, the Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, who headed the delegation of Ukraine at the event has spoken on Ukraine's key achievements in this area.
Irina Zapatrina, the Chairman of the Board of the Center has spoken on the 2nd day of the session during the panel discussion on the prospects of Ukraine's participation in the programs on institutional capacity increasing in the field of PPP in the framework of the "One Belt - One Way" initiative. The said program will be implemented in accordance with the Memorandum signed between the UNECE and China’s National Development and Reform Commission.
